ACTIVITY AS AN ATHLETIC TRAINER IN SOCCER
With regard to competitive sports, it is clear that athletics is an interplay of complex movement skills and the demands in soccer are constantly increasing due to the ongoing professionalization.
Today’s soccer players must be able to combine skills such as agility, speed, stability, strength, endurance and coordination without neglecting the focus on their own ball and game technique. Training these skills is the main task of athletic coaches in football.
To do this, they need specific sport motor knowledge and skills in order to teach and instruct appropriate exercises. Athletic choaches set up systematic, position-specific and individual training plans to improve each individual player as well as the team as a whole.
The goal is long-term performance development, performance optimization and performance maintenance. Age and performance level determine the training program. The close exchange with the coaching team and the coordination of team and individual training depending on the competition calendar are therefore fundamental prerequisites for the daily work.
