Athletic coach – the valuable specialists in the background
Do you want to make your team fitter, improve the physical condition of your players and minimize the risk of injury? Then the CAS Athletic Coach in Football is the right course for you.
The demands on athletic coaches in football have increased considerably in recent years. The systematic improvement of conditional skills in competition, the increasing individualization of training measures and injury-preventive training options are increasingly expanding the range of tasks in this specialist area.
For example, athletic coaches need to optimize their players’ football-specific endurance performance based on sound basic endurance, take into account the various aspects of speed in the training process and improve maximum strength levels in order to subsequently develop speed performance.
In addition, topics such as functional training, core strengthening, mobility, leg axis stabilization, coordination training and position-specific athletic measures are part of the versatile and demanding range of tasks.

OUR LEARNING CONCEPT: BLENDED LEARNING
Blended learning is even more than e-learning: it combines the classic face-to-face seminars with various online learning formats, thus making learning more modern, flexible and transfer effective.
Due to the semi-virtual concept and the block models, the programs are extra-occupational and can therefore also be carried out alongside sport and family. The certificate program is therefore much more than an online or distance learning program.
In order to test the knowledge gained, online tests are just as possible as study papers on individual topics.
The innovative learning approach guarantees the compatibility of work, sports and further education. Lecturers with enormous subject expertise impart practical knowledge at the highest level during the ten days of attendance.

CAS SIMPLY EXPLAINED
Extra-occupational training and further education courses that can be completed with a Certificate of Advanced Studies – CAS for short – offer the opportunity to deal with a topic academically and acquire a qualification below an academic degree (e.g. Bachelor). CASs are also assessed according to credit points under the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). Accordingly, these credit points are also recognized throughout Europe. CASs can be upgraded to a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) or other academic degree programs by attending further CASs and writing an academic thesis.
ACTIVITY AS AN ATHLETIC COACH IN FOOTBALL
With regard to competitive sports, it is clear that athletics is an interplay of complex movement skills and the demands in football are constantly increasing due to the ongoing professionalization.
Today’s football players must be able to combine skills such as agility, speed, stability, strength, endurance and coordination without neglecting the focus on their own ball and game technique. Training these skills is the main task of athletic coaches in football.
To do this, they need specific sport motor knowledge and skills in order to teach and instruct appropriate exercises. Athletic trainers set up systematic, position-specific and individual training plans to improve each individual player as well as the team as a whole.
The goal is long-term performance development, performance optimization and performance maintenance. Age and performance level determine the training program. The close exchange with the coaching team and the coordination of team and individual training depending on the competition calendar are therefore fundamental prerequisites for the daily work.
