Only seven kilometers away from Munich and idyllically situated at the Isar meadows, the city of Ismaning offers its 16,000 residents a high quality of life with numerous recreational opportunities and local recreation areas.
Due to its central location between the state capital and the international airport Franz-Josef-Strauß, Ismaning has one of the highest rates of overnight stays in the Free State,

in addition, the neighboring municipality of Unterföhring is Germany’s most important media location as the headquarters of ProSiebenSat, Paramount Pictures and Sky Germany.
Thus, Ismaning is the vision of “laptop and lederhosen” come true: Down-to-earth, yet in the middle of one of Europe’s most dynamic economic regions.

ARRIVAL & CATERING

The Ismaning campus is located at Steinheilstraße 4, 85737 Ismaning, Germany.

Parking facilities
Unfortunately, the Ismaning campus does not have its own parking lot for students, which is due to a lack of space. The university is aware of the parking shortage and is in negotiations with the municipality to designate additional parking spaces at the university campus. However, this is a longer process, so in the meantime we recommend that you travel by public transportation.

If you still arrive by car, you can park for a fee in the underground parking garage directly at the university. Other nearby parking is available at the indoor swimming pool (Erich-Zeitler-Straße 6, 85737 Ismaning) and at the nearby Osterfeldhalle (distance 3 minutes) on Oskar-Messter-Straße.
At the Ismaning S-Bahn station, parking is available (in conjunction with a valid S-Bahn ticket) for 1 euro per day at the P+R Ismaning (Schweigerstraße, 85737 Ismaning). The parking spaces along Steinheilstraße can only be used for two hours. After that, the vehicle must be demonstrably moved.

Please note:
The parking spaces directly next to the building are only available to the tenants of Steinheilstraße 4-6; therefore, they may not be used by HAM students.

Arrival by public transport
You can reach the Ismaning campus in only 18 minutes by train from Munich Ostbahnhof or in 14 minutes by train from Munich Airport with the S-Bahn 8.

Cafeteria/ Mensa
The Ismaning campus has its own cafeteria offering a wide range of meals at student-friendly prices. In addition, there is a comfortably furnished lounge that invites you to exchange ideas with fellow students over coffee. In addition, Ismaning offers numerous restaurants and pubs in the immediate vicinity of the campus. We have put together a small selection for you.
